Week 13: online presence

65+ Social Networking Sites You Need to Know About in 2020 - Make ...In this blog I am going to talk about not only the scary/negative aspects of social media, but also the positive parts of a social media presence. Social media really does have a hug impact in peoples lives at this point in time so it really is an interesting topic that has many positives along with many negatives simply because it is so new.

There are many negatives to social media unfortunately, but I feel like that is similar to anything else where these problems can be fixed simply with moderation. Like many things, social media can be very addictive and spending too much time on it can cause mental health issues. Social media shows everyone's best self. Scrolling through picture after picture of people who look like they are on top of the world can lead to a number of mental health issues, so it is advised to keep in mind that people on social media probably aren't exactly as they seem and you are not alone.

21 of the Best Social Media Apps for Marketers in 2020I think the greatest part of social media, is what gaining a following can actually do for you. Many people make a living from social media in today's world. I myself was talking to a friend earlier today and telling him how I want to make an account on Tik Tok and gain a following under a brand name that I will have to come up with. When I gain a following under this account, I will not only be safe as I won't have any personal information on it, but I will have a following that I can use for really anything. I don't even have a plan for that far into the future but I plan on having that as an option and can definitely find a way to make money from it at that point and I think that is amazing.

I think it's so cool that people can make money remotely though apps on their cell phone and connect with others in ways that we never could before. People see the many negatives to social media but all that I see is a crazy amount of opportunity that never existed before social media.
